Kirk Dimond, LEED AP, is an Associate Professor in the School of Landscape Architecture and Planning at the University of Arizona where he teaches undergraduate and graduate design studios, and the core technical sequence of Site Engineering and Landscape Construction.  His teaching and research involve creating and evaluating landscape performance through an understanding of social and ecological synergies and tradeoffs in design decisions. His particular focus explores the relationships between renewable energy, stormwater management, water efficiency, sustainable materials, urban ecology, and aesthetics. Kirk strives for incorporating interdisciplinary perspectives considering the opportunities and constraints in layering these features in cities and landscapes. Stemming from his interdisciplinary background in practice and education, he values collaborations and has partnered with faculty from Architecture, Art, Natural Resources, Geography, and others, both internal and external to the University of Arizona.
