Permeable Pavement

Permeable Materials and Stormwater Infiltration

The Physics & Atmospheric Sciences site demonstrates contemporary sustainable landscape strategies including drip irrigation, infiltration of storm water in basins, and use of arid-adapted plants, which in turn provides opportunities for integrated design features and arid environment research, education, and outreach. Guided by universal design principles, adjacent bike path improvements constructed with permeable pavement infiltrate and filter storm water quality, while also increasing safety and legibility for bicyclists and pedestrians.
